Gather close, because I have to confess something: The Spite Date by Pippa Grant broke me into a million giggly, teary, swoony pieces… and I liked it.


From the very first chapter, this romcom had me side-eyeing my Kindle like, “Pippa, what chaos have you unleashed now?” And oh, did she deliver: a famous British single dad, a small-town revenge queen, and one apology date turned spite-fueled chaos. 👏

👑 THE PREMISE (aka why my TBR exploded)


Bee doesn’t trust men. (Relatable, bestie. 😏) Especially not ones with blinding smiles like Simon Luckwood—the world’s hottest movie star turned temporary small-town resident.


But when his mischievous teenage sons accidentally get her arrested (yes, ARRESTED), Simon does the only thing he can think of: offer an apology date.


And Bee? Oh, she sees her shot at revenge. One night. One scene. One perfectly orchestrated plan to crash her ex’s grand restaurant opening.


What could possibly go wrong? (Spoiler: EVERYTHING. In the most Pippa way possible.)

Pippa Grant is the undisputed QUEEN of banter. The back-and-forth between Bee and Simon had me snorting so loud I scared the dog. 🐾

Just when you’re comfortable laughing your way through the revenge chaos, Pippa slices your heart open with moments so tender they sneak up and crush you.
