Emotional support screenshots. Staring at walls thinking about fictional people like they personally ruined my taxes.
And now THE QUEEN OF DARK FANTASY HAS RETURNED.
Do you understand the level of unhinged excitement currently living inside my body‽ Because I genuinely don’t think I have the emotional stability necessary for all the books S.P. Woods has coming. Fantasy romance? Dark tension? Dangerous men? Emotional devastation? Sign me the hell up repeatedly.

The world S.P. Woods created in the A Mortal Queen: Stolen series feels dangerous in the best possible way. It has this dark pulse underneath it where love, fear, survival, and obsession all bleed together.
Kylin’s journey never felt polished or “perfect heroine” coded. She feels human. Angry. Confused. Vulnerable.
Desperate. Curious. And honestly? That’s exactly why her story hits so hard.
The tension between what she was taught versus what she begins to desire?

And then A Mortal Queen: Beast came in swinging with dragons, werewolves, prophecies, emotional pain, and enough relationship tension to make me physically aggressive toward furniture.

Yeah no. I was emotionally compromised.
The betrayal. The grief. The longing. The paranoia. The “everyone is watching every move” atmosphere? Absolutely delicious psychological torture .~
Ares-Valentine Academy Deserves More Noise
Can we ALSO talk about Ares-Valentine Academy for a second because I need people to stop sleeping on this series immediately.
Rejected mates.
Magical academy.
Dual POV.
Morally complicated tension.
A professor with vengeance issues.
…S.P. Woods looked directly at my reading preferences and said, “I can make her worse.” 😭
The emotional tension in this story works so well because it never feels forced. Harper and the professor constantly feel like they’re circling each other with knives hidden behind their backs while simultaneously trying not to combust.
Which honestly?
10/10 behavior.

There’s something about S.P. Woods’ writing style that feels immersive without trying too hard. The worlds feel lived in. The emotions feel messy. The relationships feel dangerous in ways that matter emotionally -- not just physically.

There Are SO Many Worlds Coming and I’m Already Emotionally Attached
As if S.P. Woods wasn’t already feeding my fantasy obsession enough, now we also have Hiding with the Faerie Who Stayed releasing July 21, 2026… and excuse me while I absolutely lose my mind over this premise.
A wounded assassin trained to survive pain. A fae with black-tipped horns. A knife to the throat being treated like flirting. Scottish changeling folklore inspiration. DARK FAIRY WOODS.
Yeah… this was basically handcrafted in a lab for fantasy romance readers who enjoy emotional suffering and dangerously intriguing men. 😭
Sybil already sounds like the kind of FMC I latch onto immediately -- hardened by survival but carrying wounds far deeper than physical scars. And the idea of her being forced into close proximity with someone who sees through all that conditioning? Delicious. Potentially devastating. Exactly my brand of emotional damage.
And then there’s the atmosphere. S.P. Woods always nails that haunting “the forest itself is watching you” feeling, and this novella already feels dripping in eerie tension and fragile trust. I just KNOW this story is going to hurt me softly while handing me horned fae obsession issues for free.

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE TITLE REVEAL FOR DUSK PLEASE???
The second I saw the title DUSK, my brain immediately went:
“Oh this is going to emotionally ruin people.”
Because that title alone feels heavy. Dangerous. Intimate. Like standing in the middle of dark academia hallways while magic crackles behind locked doors and someone morally questionable watches you too closely.
Harper and Nick’s story already has all the ingredients for obsession:
Rejected mates, student x professor tension, magical university chaos, revenge-driven MMC energy, and enough emotional conflict to send readers spiraling directly into the void.
Nick especially feels like the kind of character who will spend half the story pretending he’s cold and untouchable while internally becoming one inconvenience away from absolute collapse over Harper. Which obviously means I will adore him.
Honestly, S.P. Woods keeps proving she understands exactly how to create fantasy romance worlds that feel dangerous, addictive, and impossible to stop thinking about once they sink their claws into you. 🖤
